Solargraphs

This is a continuing body of work started in 2013 utilizing a pinhole camera and black-and-white photographic paper negatives, which, after exposure, are scanned and processed digitally in photoshop. Digital prints using archival pigments are made from the processed images.

Exposures run from a couple hours to several weeks, although most are exposed over a one week period. With these long exposures, the solargraphs document the sun’s path across the sky as time passes, the slight change in trajectory shown as multiple bands of light across the sky.
